Forests are a common target for terrorists. Last month we had fires in 8 different locations of the country on the same day. The same day the wind blew 40 kts gusts. None of the locations were close to each other including one on an island close to Istanbul. (Me and my team went to the Island, 1 hour cruise on a catamaran sea-bus in that wind and waves is not a pleasant trip <img src="images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) Fire engines and support had to be brought to the island with landing-craft.
All the firefighting air craft had to work in 8 different locations through-out the country. Our forestry service and military has too much experience in forest fire-fighting, thanks to that the damage was kept in minimum.
Until sometime ago terrorist attacks targeted infrastucture constructions in remote areas. They kidnapped the workers burned the equipment etc. We are all glad it is all over now but forests are still an easy target as we experienced last month.
Sorry for what I will say but; all who burn trees and forests I hope they all burn in hell forever.
