#20939 - 10/30/03 08:33 AM Some minor revise for Wave and Micra...........

I already have had a plan to revise Wave and Micra when first time I saw them, and recently I have truely made them customized.

About Wave,

1. I do hate the the sheepsfoot point on the serrated edge, so I revised it into the Wharncliffe point , please notice I also give it the false edge, therefore, I have given the stabbing ability to the serrated edge blade.

2. According to http://www.equipped.org/wave.htm , I have traded a screwdriver blade for a sharjp awl, little dangerous but really useful!

the other side

About Micra,

Micra is almost flawless, but actually, I do not prefer the chisel ground on the plain edge( especially on the bases of the Vee ground bevel......)

So I have let it be a really Vee-ground one

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Both,

I have adapted a small Vitorinox split ring on each. Those rings are quite robust and reliable.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

At last but not the least!

Brotherhood!!!!

Thank you for reading this topic, if you have any comment, please do not hesitate to reply!

Thanks again!

I'm nowhere near adept enough at metalworking to do something like that without having it look like a total hatchet job, but you seem to have pulled it off quite nicely. Well done!

Why did you choose to convert the large screwdriver into an awl and not the smaller screw driver, which would have been my intuitive choice. (I must add that I have no metal working skills at all)

There are 4 standard screwdriver blades in Wave.......
Too many...........
And I considered the smallest would be much useful than the 2nd one.( actaully it is!)
So I
Without thinking! I made it into a awl!

Thank you for your comment!

Adolf,

You've inspired me. I was wanting to make an awl on my wave, but didn't even think of using that screwdriver blade. You gave me something to do tonight. Thanks for posting this, and welcome to the forums.

Polak, you must be too modest!!!
Making a simple chisel awl must be a piece of cake for an old hand!

I am rather glad to hear this good news!
Once you have made the awl, please post your Wave!
Let us do more, and perhaps Leatherman will notice our requirement!
