I was recently at Wal-Mart when I saww a 5 pound box of Fatwood Firestarter Sticks for $10, I was wondering if they are worth the money? If you guys haven't tried them, I can try one out and tell you. I have never used Fatwood and kinda do not know how, so I need some help in this department.

Thank you, Rebwa, for that link. I ordered the 35 lb box and took advantage of the 20% off for Bean Visa holders promotion going on this weekend. Free shipping, too. I'll be keeping some of it in my car and teardrop trailer. :-)

One or two sticks is all you need to get a good fire going. I've ordered it from Bean for several years and have never been disappointed.

Wally-World Fatwood is Just as good as any other place to get it,Short of Harvesting it yourself!$10.00 is rather a High price for 5lbs but...It will go a Lonngg way, since all you need are thin slivers.Make sure you keep all the sawdust/tiny pieces, when sawing/cutting fatwood as,That is what Maya Dust is!As I recall they usually come in boxes with a window,If that be the case,Look for the Most amber/plastic/shiny pieces&,buy that box.Enjoy!
