A few photos from our trip to visit DD2 in Cordova AK. This is a small fishing town in SE Alaska near the Copper River Delta.

The Copper River Delta (mile 25 on the Copper River Highway)

The Delta from 1,500' on our float plane trip

Alpine meadow and lake along the Pipeline Trail, Chugach National Forest

Child's Glacier, 50 bumpy miles from Cordova out a gravel road

Sockeye Salmon, but silvers are running now

Folks, you have to visit Alaska. It has incredible beauty, great people and sights to last a lifetime.

Beautiful pictures, that must have been an awesome trip! Did you camp or stay in a lodge?

Thanks, a great visit. Nine hours on 3 airplanes X2 not so great.

We stayed in town at rental condo, nice but not plush. That's my wife's idea of 'roughing it'.

Here's a shot from the condo. those are fish canneries in the foreground. A unique odor...

Cordova is a commercial fishing town for gill netters and seiners. Sometimes the crab boats like the 'Time Bandit" show up when they're being used as tenders for the seiners.

A view of the harbor.

Just remember that when we arrived they had had 55 days without seeing the sun, it was raining and the temperature was 54 degrees.

Blast, glad you're back and things are looking up.
