While surfing, I came across this. It looks like it could be an interesting adition to a bob. No need to carry a jacket and a sleeping bag. The disadvantages are, it doesn't look very warm and you can't wear the jacket in the sleeping bag for added warmth as they are the same thing. It is cheap, but unfortunatly sold out. However i'll check bag and may purchase one and let you know what its like.

We sold these when I worked at the Army Navy store. The outside is rubberized and waterproof so they were popular with bikers. It is true that they are the warmest bag. They are more like a parka with a foot sack.

Scrap that idea.

"It does not have much insulation but is notorious for keeping the condensation in. In the morning you will be quite damp! It is heavy and has a bad shape for a sleeping bag. The people who designed it might have still suffered from frostbites from Russian winters in WWII as it can double as an overcoat.

The cover which comes with it keeps the humidity and dirt out but thatīs it. A sturdy piece but very ineffective. Some hunters use it for stand hunting. They discard the cover and take advantage of the fact that the material is quiet. Maybe this is the best use you can make out of it.

Having spent some cold spring nights in it knowing I could have been toasty and warm in my own gear makes me reject it vigorously. "

Also,
might be too cold to sleep in and too hot to wear and work.

My 2 euro cents

hey guys take a pass on these bags . they might look warm but the bags are darn cold to sleep in, in all but a summers night. i used mine while i was in the army instead of my issue sack. i thought the idea was sound you could have your legs out and your arms out to hold a weapon while pulling security etc.. if you are plannning to use this system also use poly pro. and a poncho liner i think that would help alot to improve the sack .. but i again would pass on this .... vince g.. <img src="images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> [color:"green"] [/color]

A friend used to be the sniper on a SWAT team, and he bought one to add to his gear, figuring that on those long call-outs it would keep him comfortable while still able to use his weapon. He reports that the damned thing does not keep you all that warm, and you get soaked with sweat in short order...
