This may prove to be a very useful and flexible bit of kit around the home and in vehicle use during a power emergency.

The TANK007 TR01. A 18650 Lithium Ion cell based flashlight which will recharge directly from a 12V source i.e. vehicle or Solar PV panel directly or Mains electricity. Can still be used directly from the 12V source such as a car battery or a portable power pack such as a XPower Powerpack 300.

I don't really care for the moon beam kind of focused light. My wife bought a cheap (Energizer?) combo lantern/flashlight that has that kind of beam, and I found it hard to walk with two people side-by-side. The area hit by the light is well lit, but the area around it is harder to see than without the light.

Honestly, I haven't found much that's better than my Princeton Tec EOS headlamp. About $35-$40, fairly compact, VERY bright on high, waterproof (?), lasts a long time on low or medium, and easy enough to carry by hand, if desired.

Actually, now that I think of it, in the long run I think I use it more hand held than I do on my head.
