I have found this source for kevlar cord. It costs 40p and is 1.5mm thick. The test strength of this cord isn't listed on the site. I have done some searching for the strength of kelvar cord and found the following: Kevlar cord 1mm thick - 100kg (220lb). The thicker cord must be stronger than that. This seems like it could be quite a good contender for a survival kit cord. However I don't know anything about the flexibility of the cord. It could be like wire, I don't know. It comes in four colours too: White, black, purple and pink .

Anyone who spends time around the forum will recognize assorted names as the benchmark of their category. Not everybody can afford or even easily acquire a Sebenza, 550 paracord or several other items. That doesn't , and shouldn't imply that a person is at some disadvantage using alternatives.

I concur, paracord is not readily available in most part of Asia.

I just heard about paracord about 3 to 4 years ago. Before that, I was using nylon rope called locally "comscord".

I bought paracord (unused) 49p for 2.5M. Seeing this I immediatly bought 25M.
Now I wished I bought even more

I've been buying paracord from BQM, 100 Yard spool. I don't really like the inhouse paracord as the sheath is too loose.
