So, I was browsing around the Eureka Outlet store today looking for either a factory-second or retail return tent. They are really good deals. Anyway, I saw huge box of rain flies for discontinued tents. I poked around in the box. I took one out that was unpackaged and spread it out. I thought to myself that this may be a good way to go for a shelter (lightweight). It has the elastic loops and the rings. Complete; just no tent to put underneath it. It was for Eureka's old Sunrise 8 tent. I have no idea how big it was, but the rain fly looked big enough to experiment with for $3.00. They have a bunch more if it works out.

I purchased a nylon one from Campmor about 6 months ago for $20. I just went and found it and it is still on sale. It is 8'x9.5'.
