Hi folks, new guy here--what a great site! I see that Les Stroud posts here... Did anyone watch the Discovery program on the "real" Robisnson Crusoe last night? Les was featured, providing some insight as to Alexander Selkirk's resources and survival priorities. Well done and informative. Does anyone know if Les engaged in a "Crusoe" test similar to his weeks in the wilderness (Canada in summer and winter)? I believe the program is on again 10/11/03 at 1400 hrs (east coast?).
My apologies as I note that this has been previously discussed--my bad! On another note, however, the book "Selkirk's Island" by Diana Souhami provides many additional details on how Selkirk survived... Also, Souhami spent three months on the same island, doing research for her book.
