I say its akin to NOT peeing on the toilet seat, possible but a lot harder than simply lifting the seat ( or using a urinal).
Add in wind/fatigue/injury and its easy to make a mess.

Or its like catching a baseball without a glove, possible with special technique under ideal conditions.
