Among Leatherman multis, only the Squirt P4 has spring-loaded pliers. The larger tools do not.

Of all the larger Leathermans I've owned (Original PST, Super Tool, Core, Old Wave, New Wave, Blast) none of them seemed to need spring-loading to work better for me.

Leatherman is the Official Multitool of chaosmagnet's BOB and laptop bag. I have no connection to the company other than as a happy customer.

Depends on who has what posted; sometimes you need to jigger the terms a bit. "tsa knife" gets you 6 hits (mostly Classic SAKs and knockoffs). "multitool lot" gets a few hits for seized knives and used Micras. "leatherman squirt used" gets a lot of hits, including P4's for $11 shipped and a S4/P4 set for $30 shipped (Buy it Now price in both cases). Just poke around; if you're the in market then the 5 minutes you spend plugging in search terms might save you a couple bucks. The original 25-year warranty applies to the little guys too...

Late to the party, sorry.

I bought the first version of the SOG powerlock when they first came out. At that time, they didn't have the protective disks/ears protecting the gears on the handle, so you really had to carry them in a sheath.

The pliers are excellent. Very strong, good wirecutters, and the geared mechanism really does double the force of your grip.

The tools, though, were a bit small and thin for harsh work. Fine for backup. But no comparison to the big Leathermans that I carry all the time.

My $0.02.
