My SAR coordinator asked me to research the ICOM f 50v and Infinity K911 radio/pagers. I am having a hard time finding information that I can compare or reviews about them.

Does anyone have experience with either of these items? Or ICOM versus Infinity info.

Also I don't know squat about radios. I just happen to have the time to be on the internet to look for info.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with Icom pagers but I have an Icom Ham frequency handheld radio and it's a fine piece of gear. Very durable.

Hope that helps a tiny little bit.

I just sent a message off to a friend who owns and is a RF guy for pagers out here on the east coast, and sent him a link to the thread

He Replied:

"I have no past experience with any Infinity products. I have used many different pieces of Icom equipment over the years-and have always been impressed with the quality and longevity of their stuff.
My equipment pedigree has always been more Motorola/General Electric(Tyco now?)Glenayre then anything else.
Hope that helps! "

Basically, one handles VHF and UHF (the Icom), the other does not. The K911 has a much easier user interface, the Icom has more bells, whistles and gee-gaws.
