Hi guys, I've been carrying a AMK 2 person blanket for a couple of months in my back pocket as part of my EDC but when I checked it, it had developed several small holes at the edges of the corners. Has anyone else had this problem? And can anyone suggest some way to protect it? The only thing that I can think of is to rap it in duck/gaffa tape.

Heavy duty resealable bag?

Thanks for the idea Computergeek, & sorry for not replying sooner but I've been studying for some exams.

You will probably laugh at this one, but it works great. Put the sheet in heavy zip lock bag then sprinkle a tiny bit of corn starch or talcum powder in the bag. Seal the bag, give a few shakes then remove all air and reseal the bag.

The starch or powder makes the sheet and the inside of the bag slippery. In a tight packed backpack or PSK, anything rubbing/pushing on the bag will allow the sheet to move slightly with little or no friction and makes for less chance of creating a wear spot or a hole.

Don't give it a second thought. I assumed you were waiting for other replies/ideas.

No way to prevent that in a back pocket.

Something like that, folded, and subject to repeated stress will eventually fail at the folds.

Pinholes don't really matter, carry a bit of duct tape for field repairs.

The real answer is to move it out of your back pocket.

Where do you live that you would need to carry a heat sheet every day and not be carrying a back pack of some sort, or at least a waist pack?
