Batoning, IMO, will break any folder, and most fixed blade knives eventually. It's a technique that has to be done correctly and should be only be used in a survival situation with smaller diameter wood. Without reservation, I recommend the Leatherman Wave or the Supertool 200 for the purposes you listed (except batoning).
