Homebase (yes those of the Most Expensive DIY Goods fame) have gone mental. I went in today and as part of their "Tool Sale" they are offering a Maglite AA / Maglite Solitaire Combopack for £11.99 - get them before they're gone (or someone realises they've priced them wrong!!).

I don't think its a mistake. I got a maglite double D-cell and a double AAA for £24 a couple of years ago and it wasn't on sale.

Most stores list the AA at £14 and the Solitaire at £10 - so £11.99 for both is very good - I got a £3 voucher through the post so I got both for £8.99 <img src="images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

And then you can upgrade the bulb with an LED kit from 7dayshop.com:

£17, and it takes only a couple of minutes to fit. Very neat, nice and bright. Only drawback is that the beam is no longer focussed, but a small price to pay IMHO.
