Eh, if Ultimate Survival Technologies can't produce theirs more cheaply, then oh well. The Weber Firestarters Lighter Cubes come out to $0.18 per 11 oz cube whereas UTS Wetfire Tinder comes out to $0.99 per 2 oz cube (last time I purchased them).
I wonder about the ability to separate out Weber's product into individual pieces without breaking the seal of the packaging on the brick. UTS's Wetfire Tinder is sealed in individual packets, which is handy for packing as much or as little as you want. I do believe I remember a post here in the forums about the Wetfire foil packet showing holes after they had been packed in a PSK for a while.
I also would like to see tests of how each perform wet. Wetfire's claim to fame is that you can float a cube in water and still light it. I'd like to see what happens to a Weber Firestarter in the same test.
Also, I'd like to see what happens if you cut a Weber Fire Starter and only use a portion and then try at varying lengths of time to light the remaining piece. It would be interesting to see how long the cube keeps its potency when exposed to air.
Thanks for the head's up, sybert777!

If you want cheap in fire making material, go for dryer lint, plus a bit of paraffin or hand sanitizer gel. Just be sure that the lint is all, or nearly all, cotton, not synthetic.

k, update- I had a few hours off, so I tried some of the weber tinder blocks- set one directly on snow with a 5-10 mile an hour breeze- temp 20 Deg F. Lit and stayed lit with a yellow flame- It started to melt down into snow after about 5 minutes. Stayed lit for 13-14 minutes.
Only thing I did not like was packaging. It looks kinda like a blister pack of pills, but the foil does not seal each blister well. I do not know if air exposure it bad for the blocks. I think I might hand wrap a few and try them again in a few weeks.

You'd might want to wrap plastic film ("cling film") around the cubes if you think the seal is broken. You know, the regular stuff for wrapping food before putting leftovers in the fridge. Amazing stuff for a lot of things.

I tried wetfire cubes. Took them out of my crash bag after a hunting season and they had been squished breaking the seal on the wrappers. They dried out and crumbled up real good. They wouldn't light very well at all afterwards.
If you can find them cheaper than these with the same performance it sounds like a good deal.
