Hey all,
I read an interesting story in the recent low tech magazine blog posting. Most of you already probably know about this "wood gas" technology but it was new to me. Very cool idea. I doubt we have enough wood to power these suckers and replace all cars, however the idea still seems pretty clever.
Cheers, L

The combustable part of Woodgas is carbon monoxide. Not a terribly pleasant substance - especially in an enclosed vehicle. Personally I think I would stick to LPG if you want to run your car on non-oil or diesel from waste cooking oil if you want to be self-sufficent.

Wow, now that is awesome.
NoBodySpecial - I think the point is you can just dump in more wood and go, you don't need any type of commercial business to operate, or any waste product.. You can use wood, load up, and go.
