I'm very pleased to report that my replacement RSK Mk5 sheaths finally arrived and fit GREAT! Nice and tight, but not too tight.

I'm thinking about putting a small loop of narrow cord on the point end of the sheath to make separating the knife from the sheath easier. It would also make it one-handed if needed --- I could put a foot on the sheath loop and then pull on the red knife loop with the good hand.

It would be nice if I could find some bright orange quality cord that is narrower than paracord.

ANOTHER RELATED QUESTION:
Doug had hinted that the sheath that ships with the Mk5 may not be durable enough for regular (EDC) use as it was designed to minimize space/weight/cost. Has anyone found a source for a tougher 3rd party sheath? Just curious.

Ken

Thanks. Good to hear. Actually, I probably need to change that misperception. With the new design, they are really quite adequate. Not as tough as a full-bore Kydex, but certainly adequate for most uses. In any case, for a Kydex sheath, try:

(also custom inserts for production nylon sheaths)

Eric Noeldechen (Normark) at On/Scene Tactical
