A fascinating wildlife study.

http://scienceblogs.com/grrlscientist/2009/12/finnish_exports_part_1.php

This should give everyone a deep and abiding respect for mall Santas and all they have gone through. Who knew that your average Santa could, before being properly trained and socialized, rip apart a bear bare handed. Not to mention bare bottomed. Lots of lolz.

Merry Christmas.

smile IŽve been to lapland quite a few times but never had a chance to see a wild santa in the woods. Only his reindeers.

Domesticated santas areŽnt quite the same thing. grin

PS. I think I recognaise the actor playing the spotter, Tommi Korpela.

Good to see there are fellow members of the reality based community.

I figured that I could extract the YouTube link but I found it on the Science blog site and thought that they deserved the link love in return for bringing the clip to my attention. If along the way some people on this site happen to spend some time on the science blogs sites so much the better.

I try to scan the science blogs 24hr feed every day and read as many of the articles as I can fit in.

There are a lot of smart people writing clear and informative articles with a logical and scientific perspective. Some more than others. I'm always learning stuff. I'm not affiliated with the site but think it helps keeps me grounded and well informed.
