"I need serious help ... I'm up to 8 lights on my person or in my vehicle."

There, there... (pat, pat, pat), it's okay. After all, it's only eight. Eight is hardly any. Just think, if you're stalled in a long tunnel, you'll be a hero.

Hi my names Mike (all Hi Mike)
and I'd like to say I'm an addict, I carry one flashlight on me at all times, two in my car three in my BOB and two more under the sink, I'm so glad for this 12 step program to put me in touch with a higher power (DR wink wink nudge nudge)

LOL

YMMV

Mike

Take heart, Mike: there's a light at the end of the tunnel! grin

Well, if we're going there ( smile ):

Before I got the bug, I kept a light in the glove box and carried one in my EDC bag.

Now, there are three in the trunk (two in my GHB and one in my car tool bag), still one in the glove box, and three in my EDC bag.

(There's also a total of 4.8L of water in the trunk. But no guns.)

Flashlights in the car? How about just pull the battery, pull a headlight or two, use a seat belt to sling the battery, and wire up the headlights with a switch so I have a super dooper flashlight with a battery that'll last me about 3 days continuous use.

Damn, I love MacGyver.

I am very uncomfortable with this topic. I don't think I should have to count my flashlights; not the one on each keyring, not the six in the sailboat, not the one in my PSK, not the one in my PFAK, not the one in each of my other FAKs [none of your business how many!], and certainly not those in my BOB, vehicle, or other stashes.

I am not corrupted, I'm not, I'm not, I'M NOT!

Go away and leave me alone!

And I thought I was odd (well, maybe I am, but that's beside the point).

I have a flashlight on my keyring, one in each truck. Each small survival kit has one, the vests I have ready for us have one each; as well as a marker light not unlike a powered chem light; the BOBs have 2 each, with extra batteries. In the house I have a big maglite and a triple AAA for each of us, as well as one in the kitchen and one hanging next to the breaker box in the garage. Not counting the 8 solar lights outside. Or the coleman lantern in the garage. Or the 8 gazillion candles we have stashed (well, some are scented so they have a secondary use).

And what's funny is I have really good night vision and seldom if ever use a flashlight outside to wander around.

My name is Mark, and I am an addict...
*at the FAA - Flashlight Addicts Anonymous - meeting*
Begin counting ... one on personal keychain ... one on office keychain ... one on side desk at office ... at least one in each vehicle (sometimes two or three manage to get in there) ... three or four, maybe more I lost count, D-cell mag lites at the house (old school I know but what can I say - I'm older than the average bear) ... at least the same mini-mag lites - got tired of lugging out the D-cells - at the house ... three more led mini mags in three day pack size kits ... two cheapo head lamps to be replaced by three doug ritter head lamps, one of which I have on good authority that Santa is leaving in my son's stocking (what am I saying, I never throw anything away, the two cheapo headlamps will be relegated to non-essential, non-critical duties elsewhere) ... a multitude of mini led lights for small PSKs ... another LED light in media toolkit (mainly for use running fiber optic wires under dark stadium bleachers but comes in handy otherwise) ... another similar light by the door for pulling the plunger when the gas freezes off (have to remember to call the gas company and get those ancient regulators replaced) ... an old snake light at the back door that will likely be replaced soon now that I have thought about it ... and multitudes of battery powered camp lanterns that don't really count in this discussion but thought I would mention anyway - for KAG (Kicks And Grins smile ) ... I am sure I could think of some more if you give me enough time wink . "May God grant me the strength to restrain myself when the mag lite solitaire goes LED."

P.S. I think Santa has more for my stocking too. Happy Holidays

Hi, my name is also Mike..... and I too am a flashlight addict. Not counting the numerous models I have in-service at this time (I will guess 30, but I really have no idea), I also have a Rubbermaid tote in storage just labeled "Lights", and it is half full!

I furthered my flashlight problem today by ordering 2 more .... help me.... before my wife finds out my secret!

Mike
