I like solar too, but I prefer a separate solar charger that will juice up my AA or AAA Nimh batteries. That way I can use just about anything - alkaline, rechargeable, or lithium in the light.

I prefer not to purchase battery powered electronics unless they can operate off of any of these types of batteries.
