Snow level down to 1000ft or less I heard. Low in the 20s in Folsom, and other nearby cities.
High winds possible

That means ice on the roads.
Potential power outages.
Snow where it's not normally found.

Get ready, supposed to be 2 days long of bad weather then 3-5 of not good.

LOL@ Susan.

And now for a minor bit of nagging:
Make sure you have winter kit in your car including warm boots, hat and gloves. Drive slow and play safe. If you have doubts about the roads wait it out.

Hey, do people down there make snowmen?

"Hey, do people down there make snowmen?"

Only when there's enough snow. I've seen kids carefully sweeping sidewalks to collect enough to build a 2' (60cm) snowman.

One boy creatively made a fairly large mudman (not exactly round) and carefully applied snow to the surface, then ran in and insisted his dad come out and take a photo of his 'snowman'.

You do what you can with what you've got.

@Logenenater

What do you subscribe to for weather email updates? I usually check the weather daily but that wouldn't help much for a large incoming storm requiring some home prep.

I returned to Stockton through Sacramento encountering light intermittent rain. Interior sailboat cabin temperature? 46 degrees.

We planned to stay in the valley due to appointments today and tomorrow but were able to reschedule and make our way home tonight.... since we didn't plan to come back we didn't warm it up this am, and when we arrived home it was 55 and 2" snow on the ground. Now it's a few hours later almost 1' of snow, and 68 living room, and 66 in the office. It really takes about 24 full hours to get an EASILY maintainable heat, that first 24hrs we go through a good amount of wood to heat up our entire structure.

Very dry powdery snow is awesome smile

Wind was gusting a bit but is no longer.

Looking forward to a morning surprise of lots of snow or sun to go play in haha wink
