One thing that came from the previous thread on real life contact was using an existing event as a meetup point for ETS members. I wholeheartedly endorse this practice.
If you look, there's a calendar function on this forum software. If you're attending an ETS-compatible event (a hamfest, a shooting sports event, a boat race, whatever) perhaps you can post as an event on the calendar - look to the bottom of the message composition window and you'll see that you can "list this event in the calendar..,"

A simple way to do meetups in a rational fashion.

I was thinking about this yesterday-how difficult would it be to have another forum for this? Something that folks could simply post an event in it-and maybe an "I will/wont attend" feature, similar to a poll? That way, the OP could post an event there, put it in the calendar as well, AND see who will attend? Just a thought-personally, I would like to meet some local folks for shooting (not AT them!), skills building, or just to share a beer with.

Rotational fashion? Do you mean something like a lady just wearing hoola-hoops or the normal wardrobe of our overly-round member Stu? grin

Yes to hoola-hoop lady.
No to Stu.

Are we gonna get some decoder rings or perhaps some sort of secret sign to identify ourselves...?

I'm thinking of the "nose brush" as used so effectively in the movie "The Sting".

Thoughts...?
