Were legal would the BenchMade 5000 BK Auto Presidio make a better choice over the Doug Ritter RSK?

For my needs the RSK is a better choice, it opens fast enough. That said, I'm not you.

If I was still active and somewhere like Afghanistan, then my requirements might change. It's apparently available on the GSA contract.

Looks like the 5000 lacks the ramped thumb rest that the Ritter has.

That alone would make me opt for the Ritter.

I now own the MK1, MK1-mini, MK3, 4 and 5.

And covet none other.

I say it depends on use, BM is my favorite brand (no affiliation or endorsements)

That being said, both use the axis lock.

Presidio will be heavier by a good margin.

The Ritter grip and the Presidio both have good grips.

My personal experience with autos, they're nice sometimes when you just want the dang blade open.

The down side to the 5000 is it is an axis auto... no simple button pushing.

Indeed, it may be better to get a newer auto Stryker with a large button plunger lock which has higher locking strength than the axis. Not that any human alive should ever have enough force to even break the axis.
