I am thankful for: the joyous, hair-raising sound of tens of thousands of waterbirds; finding dozens of mushrooms of all sizes and colors along a quiet country lane; the happy greeting dance of a cat; the silly grumbling hello quacks of the local ducks; the sunsets and sunrises of the Delta; the private glimpses at midnight of the local river otter; anyone who gives me a hug; and the still-amazing-to-me support of friends and family.
