Fiscal constraints have kept me in the “drooling over the neat stuff” gear freak stage, but looking at this knife by Tool Logic, it seems to combine a lot of useful features in a very small, lightweight and not horribly expensive package. Has anyone ever purchased/used the Tool Logic SL 3 Fire knife?
I think the ergonomics of the knife are really bad. The cavity for the firesteel causes a bad form for the handle that will make the use of the blade very uncomfortable. I doubt that the whistle will be easy to use and effective. I think you´re better off when you get the gadgets when you can afford them. Gadgets that pack a lot of features always require some compromises. This will compromise the use of every feature (that´s why I carry a multitool and a folder).

I've never used the Tool Logic knife, but it looks a little gimmicky (if that's a word) to me. For an extra $10 or so (maybe not even that much if you find a good sale price on a decent blade) you can get a Fox whistle($4), Sparklite($6), and a good folder that will likely do everthing this tool does but better.
