Has anyone tried the latest version of the Inova X5 Tactical? The new grips look much smoother and more palm-friendly.

I think he's refering to the new body style...its slightly different than what you see in the promotional material. I have one of the new ones, and though I don't have an old style one to compare it to, I will say that it is vary comfortable, and that there are no sharp edges on mine anywhere.

No, actually it's the latest Inova X5 Tactical. Take a look for yourself: INOVA X5 Tactical - LED Mini Floodlight . Tell me what you think. They say, and I quote, "Inova's newest version of the X5, with new improved 3-way tailcap switch and a more gripable body." I read several posts on different forums, complaining that the ridges on the body of the X5, meant to ensure a nonslip grip, were actually painful and would cut into one's palm. This one looks like they fixed that issue.

I looked at that the photo at the web site you posted and yes mine does look different. Mine appears to have more grooves which have a rounder bottom. Mine is quite comfortable. I can not address the comfort of the one you posted. As to the "improved" 3-way tail switch, mine aready has that feature, it works great. By the way if you want a well made flashlight, check out TnC Custom Products at www.tncpaintball. com They are making a "custom" quality 3XCR123 5W White LED flashlight that just blows everything else away for a lttle more than $100.00. Just got one and I am really impressed. Pete

Thanks for replying. Are you sure of the URL? I just tried it and got a "not found" error.

May I take it there were sharp edges on your first Inova X5?

I don't have an old Inova, and have never held one, but I had read in a number of different reviews of the original design that the only problem were the sharp edges.

I think this is where Pete wanted you to go, http://www.tnccustomproducts.com/And you should be careful about Pete's flashlight recomendations, you will wind up buying several.

Yes, it's the sharpish edges I'm thinking of.
