Friends and I from the Central Valley of California are going to attend some of the events during the November Mushroom & wine festival in Mendocino County. There are plenty of advertized hands-on fungi opportunities.
What I would like help with is getting some hands-on experience with Mendocino's world-class sea vegetable harvesting {seaweed generically). I know the big minus tides of the Spring and Fall are the peak opportunities, but this is the time we have and I am hoping this means some of the experts will have time to give some rookies an intro.
I have emailed a couple of the small companies who do the sea vegetable thing commercially for recommendations.

The better half's from Mendo, I'll ask her later and get back to you.

Mary didn't know of any individuals doing harvesting on a large scale, sorry.
