If you need smaller flat and phillips screwdrivers, I'd suggest looking at the Swiss-Tech MicroPlus (http://www.keychain-tools.com/st_microplus.asp). I carry one every day.

At the school I go to, personal craft knives (utility blades?) that the art and design students NEED to use for their projects have been banned after a boy at another school was stabbed. Only the 'school' craft knives may be used, in a classroom, and only in the presence of a teacher.

<<Start of sarcastic rambling>> Interesting thuohg, that a harmless, 6 inch pair of scissors is still allowed to be carried as part of our stationery. But then of course, nobody would ever dream of using scissors as a weapon <<end of bitter, sarcastic rambling)

I am down to a swisstool RS on my hip and a Spyderco Military in my right front pocket. I used to have mySAK huntsman and a Leatherman Micra as well, but I slimmed down to those two.

most folks, incuding some teachers think that any blades at school is not allowed, but nobody wrote it in that little book with school rouls thank fully some teachers arent that stricked, one teacher will even sharpen your SAK's, atleast that what i have heard. That guy is not going to sharp mine !

Hmmmm. I think I'll have a look in the school rules to check that out. I had to write them out once or twice , and I don't recall seeing anything about knives or blades.
But then again, I might have to write those rules out again for "disobeying an unwritten rule"... (this is where I leave the keyboard and devise several systems for causing havoc within the school safety regulations...)

i do have to say that i carry barly anything at school ( swisscard and wenger exsecutive ), which don't look to threathning. Just incase unwriten rouls will get me in to trouble.

local law does say that if you have any cutlery in a situation where it use can only be to hurt someone, you are breaking the law, now lets hope that police officers arent that single mindend that they will take action agians carring a SAK at public places.

Reasons for carrying a knife:

1) For emergency purposes (I am a St John Cadet, and chairman of the fisrt aid society at my school. I have membership cards to validate this)

2) As a utility blade

The law here implies that you may carry a knife on the street. If you use a knife in any offensive/threatining/defensive manner, it is termed a dangerous weopon. In fact, it will be traeted legally with the same consequences as a firearm.

I feel underdressed without a knife or blade of some sort. I feel that, legally, I have a right to carry a knife. Still thouhg, the law is not the main issue. it is the interpretation of the law by the other attorney that worries me
