Do they know something we don't? LOL.

Sounds like it was added to increase the humor and levity to the disaster plan, normally a deadly boring document. I'll bet this goes a long way to make sure people read the disaster plan. Way to think outside the box.

My girlfriend called me about this the other day and I forgot to post it here. It's hilarious. They actually have an official form to fill out explaining why you had to kill a co-worker (what their symptoms were, how you knew they were a zombie, etc...)

Apparently the actual document has been removed.

I would think that someone that is creative and thinks out side of the box was just told that "this is serious business". This individual probably was very good at their job, and will never perform at their full possibility in the future. Good thing we have "serious" people in EM, because they'll be the first ones to crack when their little plan falls apart in the first 30 seconds. smile

They simply could have moved the document to reflect it's humorous nature and said something to the effect of "the exercise was used to get individuals to think outside the box with an event that is outside their norm but provides the same end results with respect to responding to large amounts of casualties". Whether or not it was sanctioned or not.

The plan is available, in pdf, at:

And yes, it is important to have proper documentation.

There is thought, consideration and nuance within the document. Such as:

Quote:
Situational work practices such as covering windows, barricading doors, and distinguishing
between zombie moans and other moaning encountered in the workplace;

Awesome!

Found the following story that interviews the author. Looks like no disciplinary action, but disappointed they didn't leave it on the site.
