Thought I’d share what I did to improve a sheath for my RSK Mk.3

Wow, that's some fancy sewing work you're doing there. I like it! In fact, I'm tempted to ask you to make some things...

Interesting "knife" kit. Personally it looks a bit bulky to be connected to your pants by only the sheath, but I like the concept.

Thanks.

MDinana: The whole thing is about 950 grams (33.5 ounce) so it isn’t too heavy. And it’s about 10cm (4") at its widest point. So yes, I am carrying something on my belt, but compared to some stuff I’ve carried on drop legs, it’s not too much at all.

And as for making stuff for people – not sure I’m really set up to do production work. I don’t have a very good sewing machine, and I don’t really have time. I like coming up with the ideas and making prototypes, but I’m not sure that I want to get into actually making stuff. I probably should, but I don’t know where I’m supposed to squeeze it in. I currently have a grab and go bag design on the drawing boards, a bandoleer design, under quilts and quilts I need to do, two tarps, a hammock design, a gravity filter, several stove designs I want to make, a couple of pieces of furniture I have drawings for, jewelry I have designs for, various typefaces I’m working on, 800 pictures from a trip to Nova Scotia I still need to process, I have a bit of an addiction to making stuff out of Lego, I try to get out and hike and hammock as much as I can.....the list goes on and on.

Oh yeah and I finally got off my lazy butt and set up a blog for myself, where I have many years of gear I’ve sewn, stuff I’ve tinkered together, graphic and typographic designs I’ve created, articles I’ve written, products I’ve reviewed, photographs I’ve taken, art I’ve done, trips I’ve been on, etc., etc. to post. I think maybe my next creation should be a few clones of myself or build that More Hours In The Day machine I’ve invented. smile
