Playing with paracord

I've been playing with paracord, recalling my Boy Scout knots, learning new ones, making lanyards, etc. (I realized I might be getting carried away when I was considering cordwrapping the kitchen knives. ![smile smile](/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) ) I have realized, though, that the "Monkey's Fist Knot" is mis-named. It is actually the "Cat Toy Knot", and my cat thinks I am not making enough of them. ![smile smile](/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) I have also discovered a Very Important Safety Issue: do NOT, under any circumstances, drag the free end of the cord over bare skin while playing with paracord. Especially when the cat's claws are overdue for a trim.

Perhaps paracord should come with some type of warning label?

Perhaps paracord should come with some type of warning label? No, but cats certainly should. Just ask Bla...OK, I gues we've been down that road one too many times. But its such a fun road.

Blast, if it makes you feel less lonely, I too have had scratches bad enough to require extended bandaging, down both my arms to be exact. As someone who has suffered the bad end of a very angry cat, or cats as it were, numerous times, looking back on it it is kinda funny. Tragedies very often become comedies, and the quicker the better. Hence the good spirited ribbing. And I know you accept it as such.....because we care.

Wow.
How's the relationship with the cat, now?

How's the relationship with the cat, now? Sadly, he became very ill last summer and we had to put him down. I actually miss the monster. ![frown frown](/images/graemlins/default/frown.gif) -Blast

Well, of course you do. He got under your skin . . . .
Seriously, though, you have my sympathies. Two legs or four, they're still family.
The licking was affection. It's one of the ways pride/pack members bond. You were his family, too.
