Leather work gloves? Or did I miss them? Which version of the FUBAR tool are you using?

I'm curious about your choice of ammunition for the Henry rifle, if it's appropriate could you explain your reasoning for what you chose either here or via PM.

I've got a Henry as well and I'm still looking for the ideal ammo for it.

Gloves and goggles are stuffed inside the hard hat. I think it's the smaller Fubar. I carry it while firefighting. My Henry cycles very well on the Stingers. It helps if you pull off the side plate and smooth out the action with a Dremel. Also, I use the dry lubes from Sentry Solutions.

I'll have to try the Stingers in my AR-7. I've always been kinda nervous about using anything very hot in it.

Perhaps a good area map/ street map, bus schedule, important phone numbers ( on paper) tiny radio.

I like your BOB,, it is very effective,, Personaly, I would sugest Keeping the FUBAR tool. I have two difrent types myself. Hiding it though would be very good idea. Just to prevent the pointy end from slaming into your back if you ever end up going turtle.

But the bag looks great and well thought out.

That looks a comprehensive kit and I'm always a little hesitant about commenting on other peoples kit as its a highly subjective matter. One question though, have you actually used one of those "survival saws"? The ones we see here are frankly rubbish and likely to do more damage to you than any piece of wood.

Thanks for replying. Yeah, the wire saws are kinda junky, and I'm well aware of their limitations. I'll use them carefully, and expect them to fail quickly. But I tried to get the best quality I could, and they take little space and add little weight. Also note the substantially more robust saw in the top row in the photo.

What?!?! No Abrams tank?!?! Just kidding. But seriously, why the biohazard bag and suit? My first thought was just to get you through a contaminated area but then I thought you might also have some additional training that an average joe like me doesn't have that would warrant inclusion in a kit like this.

Firefighter, paramedic, member of state and federal disaster/terrorism teams, lots of training and merit badges. As to the biohazard bag specifically, they happen to be exceptionally strong plastic bags for general purposes, too. But the suit is included mainly for the reason you suggested, contaminated areas.

I like the idea of the FUBAR and think the possible uses make up for the weight.

Defensive weapon, pry bar, smasher of things in general, hammer, head whacker... worth the weight to me.

I will add that to the small trowel, Woodsmans Pal, Leatherman Wave, and issue pocketknife that are already in my kit. I'm on the lookout for a good folding saw atm. Better to have the stuff and not need it... besides, you can always toss stuff if not needed.

I'm just not real big on bottles of water. Two Camelback bladders and a filter seem to work for me.

Oh yeah, Jellybellys. Gotta have some of those.
