I have access to a few 55 gallon drums that were used for hydraulic fluid and motor oil. I would like to put up a couple filled with gasoline. Is there any problem mixing the gasoline with the leftover oil?

Regards
Bruce

The biggest problem in storing gasoline is the explosive nature of the vapors, flammable if it leaks, and rapidly degrades unless treated.
The answer to the question you asked is dependent on what you want to do with the gas after it is stored. If you just want to make a few molotov cocktails, then it is ok. If you want to use it in a modern fuel injected high performance car, I would spend the few extra bucks and buy a couple of NEW drums from a dealer.
Obviously, gasoline can be stored and shipped in 55 gallon drums, witness WWII.

Jeffery S.
