I am wondering where I can find/purchase a Milbank Bag for my SK? Any ideas?

What's a Milbank Bag ?

I'd check e-bay but why get one? A milbank bag, as I recall was a gravity fed water bag to filter out big stuff but no small stuff and certainly not crypto or giardia. You would then need to add iodine or boil the water.

IMHO, unless you have an affinity for it you have better options. Heck a bandanna and a non-potable nalogene bottle would do the same.

But you can probably find a Milbank cheap and it packs small.

I think I would use the "Aqua- pouch" by survival resorces.

A fantastic bit of kit to have in your bag, used since the second (or first?) world war and still going strong.Clearly only a filtration device but in its own element for highly silty/dirty water that will then allow your choice of purification to act properly. Nothing to break and works by gravity. available here on t'internet.

I sewed my own using a leg from an old pair of jeans. It's great for prefiltering muck, algae, and stuff before boiling. It's elongated-diamond shaped like the original Milbank bag, though you can't really tell that from the picture.

I think it is a great recycling idea. My guess is that the water would drain a lot quicker than with the milibank bag.
