I am curious to see how everybody views the SOG Seal Pup Elite. I have ordered this knife offline and i am waiting for it to get to me. I am mainly going to be using this knife for military use. I will attach it to my vest while in the "sandbox". If you have any good info about this knife. Pass it on. I hope it stands up to its name.

SEAL Pup Elite

The Seal Pup Elite is a good solid knife. Before I got hooked by the scandi grind the Seal Pup Elite was my primary bushcraft knife.

I had both the partially serrated blade and straight edge versions. I preferred the non-serrated version due to the longer cutting edge.

I've often thought about putting a scandi grind on My Seal Pup Elite, but I'm afraid that without the proper equipment I'd just ruin it with an uneven bevel.

Welcome. It's a good knife and (I believe)our best selling one. I use it personally when hiking. It's a good mixture of weight, size, price and capability. IMHO you chose wisely. Thank you for your service.

To be honest, I can't stand mine. In fact, I've been trying to sell it (I forget if it's actually been sold)

Thick blade, doesn't do fine cutting all that well. Wierd angles on the blade profile made it uncomfortable to hold. I didn't like the hangle either; ergonomic, but really aggressive check marks were tough on the hand after prolonged use.

It IS sturdy, decent serrations, etc. I prefer the Kabar or Shorty Kabar personally. or even a SAK
