I have tents, tarps, bivvies, et al. My time spent outdoors has ranged from sleeping in wet clothing under trees in pouring rain, all the way up to an outfitters camp. If I am carrying it, and know the terrain/area, I will go with my tarp/hammock setup every time. Sleeping is SO much more comfortable. Places with no trees, a tent. But, far and away, I am a hammock convert. Tarp just sorta follows suit
