In case you haven't used one, I found a video on using the
lee loader. Very compact and inexpensive way to reload a few
rounds.

I've used the Lee Loader for .357 and .12 gauge, they work great.

One of the initiations into lee loaders is the inevitable detonation of a primer slightly off centered- BTDT.Lee makes a seperate priming tool; inexpensive, easy to use and totally defeats the concept of a packable field kit.I found a quality MATCH hand reamer that trues up the pocket and the flashhole reamers make for a more pleasant reloading session. I've had reloaders role their eyes as I use match reloading techniques on cartridges and rifle chambers that defy match specifications and criteria. I now only reload for my old survival SMLE. In spite of a fresh #1 headbolt, it has the generous chambering that makes this a dependable field piece. Many of the lee loaders only neck size, which is a major trick in accuracy using cases once fired in the same firearm. You do have to run them through the action to make sure they chamber. And some, like the .30- 30 with back locking bolts can somtimes be tempermental.
The key to reloading is consistency, which also helps with safety. I've put .303 loads together that give service match rifles upset stomachs.
Whats worse, I sometimes shoot with a WW2 marine vet who pulls out a beautifull early production 7.7 Arisaka with crysanthemum. And he whips EVERYBODY.

I like the sinclair models. Chuck em in a drill to do a bunch
or do by hand. Solid Tungston Carbide, they last forever.
They come with a small plastic cover that makes for good
grip if used on the back when you don't want to use a drill.

Once you have the primer pocket uniformed they then work great
to clean the primer pocket on successive reloads.
Better than brushes, tumbling, etc.

By keeping the primer pocket at the proper depth you not only
help with accuracy, put help prevent high primers that can
cause accidents in revolvers and others.

Factory made hand loaders are nice and convenient. If you want a real custom made handloader that is cheap, portable, and consistent, build a reloading jig out of hardwood planks, dowels, a couple nails, and a couple dremel bits, and forget the dies. Use a drill press and a set of micrometers and a pre-loaded round or two to help build the jig to your specs and you can build quite a nice field loading kit that will always load consistently and reliably.

Of course, for the ultimate field reloader, buy a muzzleloader and leave the cartridges at home.

LOL. Sometimes we do things not because it is an improvement over a standard, but just because we can...
