Doesn't necessarily prove anything, I took a Leatherman Juice through airport security a month ago. Completely forgot it was in my raincoat pocket, tossed the coat on the conveyor belt for the X-ray machine, and flew to Ottawa. Found the Leatherman two days later when it rained and I actually put the raincoat on. <img src="images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Unfortunately, your experience is all too common, BTDT, as has Sue, proving the stupidity of it all.

However, and perhaps I should have been clearer, in this case was attached to my keys in the tray and the TSA person actually picked it up, examined it, showed it to a supervisor who didn't hesitate to pass it.

I'm not really sure about how much hassle you may have with the Res-q-me, but....

What I can say is that just because something is ok at Airport A doesn't mean it's going to be ok when you return from Airport B--or for that matter the next time you go through security at Airport A!

The entire process is very inconsistant (IMHO).

Airport security -- Gotta love its hit or miss quality.
