I have a wave, squirt and a couple other mini-tools but I never really considered the crunch. I use my small vise grips all the time. I just realized that the crunch was very similar.
I was wondering if anyone has a Leatherman crunch and if they like it.
For me Vise-Grips are abuse tools for when other more reasonable tools failed to work. - I stripped the head of the bolt or the nut with the box wrench / hammer combination already. I commonly combine the Vise-Grips with a hammer for added leverage and occasionally use another channel-lock plier to close the vise-grip with extra force. (did I mention that I have broken a few of them) The only thing that I actually use harder than a Vise-Grip is an impact driver. With that in mind I don't think that a tool that makes sufficient compromize in the jaw and handle to house useful tools such as blades and screw-drivers would stand up to the kind of use I make of Vise-Grips.
