Like many here, i carry a ResQme, just in case i need it. I really like it because of it's small size and portability. A life-hammer is a good alternative, but since i don't own a car and always drive a company or rental car that just not practical.

Mine has been hanging on mine flashlight holster for awhile (handy D ring on the holster). Some two weeks ago i noticed, the inside of the ResQme to be rattling. So i tested the ResQme and it failed to deploy the center-punch.

I mailed ResQme after i noticed the problem and even offered to send mine broken one for inspection, but they didn't respond. So guys if you hear yours rattle, toss it and get a new one. Or get a lifehammer which doesn't have anything that can fail.

I just tested mine and it worked fine.

Now I need to get a new window. Just kidding.

I do try to test mine every few months - usually on a few sheets of paper placed over my mouse pad and looking for the 'hole'.

I've always wondered how many tests its built to withstand without wearout.

BTW, I hope that the seat belt blade doesn't come off while its in my pocket someday. Ouch!!

Got a res-q-me in the car. It's always worked fine, but I'll check it again just to be sure.

If you shake or tap it, you're likely to hear the spring inside. It is always a good idea to give it an initial test though.
