I've tried to stir up some interest in this Streamlight before, but at @$9.95 I guess everyone concluded it is "too good to be true" and didn't try it. Now, Bass Pro Shops are also carrying the light.

Seriously guys, I've bought and distributed @25 to outdoorsmen friends. AMAZING how much light, how long (50+ hours) the battery life, and how sturdy. Photons are a thing of the past around here!

NAro: I couldn't tell from the website what kind of batteries they take, or how you turn it on and off. Can you advise me?

You have to click one of the links to get the details. 4 button cells of type LR44. Twist head for on/off.

For just a little bit more ($16.50) you can get a AAA ARC from here:

Also check out his new solar powered/waterproof light:

4 of those batteries? Damn that's expensive to replace.

Po... I easily find these batteries on sale for prices equal to AAA batteries.

Good deal, Pete. But I can't imagine an advantage for the ARC. This little streamlite is tough as nails.

The three advantages I see are: the ARC AAA is waterproof and will even work if the compartment does get wet; it has a smaller profile and uses AAA batteries, which generally have greater availability. Don't get me wrong, I love Streamlight products and have many, but in this case I think the few extra dollars for the ARC AAA are well spent. Pete

Darn it Pete!
You're forcing me to go out and buy something else now! I'll still strew these cheap streamlights all over the place. But now I have to get an ARC.

Po.. No, I'm sorry. The four button batteries are not as cheap as one AAA. I didn't mean to mislead you.
