I used to have a hank of avalanche cord that was 7 strand red paracord, but I bought this in the late 1970's and the use of avalanche cord is pretty much gone now with the advent of reliable beacons.

On the left side of their home page, choose "Raw Materials", then "Suspension Line". Look at Item: W9690 YARD - TYPE III NYLON CORD . It's the classic 7-strand "550-cord", available in different colors.]
