Yesterday was their last day of business. I collected a BONANZA of stuff - perfectly good, uncut hi-def and other video cables galore, a lot of 12/3 SOJ extension cords, shelving - so much shelving I left behind - plenty of office supplies, distribution amplifiers, spools of wire of all kinds, outlet strips live you can't find in stores - massive metal things for commercial use, so much other stuff, I was only limited by the fact that I had the kinds in the car. I took mostly 12/3 cord If you can get there tonight, do it. Never have I seen so much perfectly good stuff thrown out, it was appalling. The least they could have done was a "Buck a Bag" deal for salvage rights and left it for a couple of days. They were greedy until the end.

Our shortwired city went in over heavy community objection. The location was a pristine remnant of oak woodland and one of the city entryways.Money won out, building somehow went in twice as high as first agreed and traffic became a nightmare.
Now we have yet another empty building and a city council forcing a new big box retailer on one more unscatheed fragment of nature.
I'd like to use some of the dumpster treasures to construct a gallows.

To be fair, I'd bet that it was no longer Circuit City. When most of these stores do this, they sell out lock, stock, and barrel to salvage buyers. The salvage companies then come in, sometimes keeping former store employees for a short time and appear as the corporation. When they first come in, they often mark sale items back up to original cost and beyond (along with the regular merch). They then offer "deals" and slowly increase the markup until the last day when they dump and run.

You're right though, what a waste.
