I can compare ProForce ferrocerium rod (model Scout) with Light My Fire ferr. rod (model Scout). I think both rods have the same composition and both are just ordinary ferr. rods. I havenīt noticed any distinct difference between these rods and I have been using them a lot with exactly the same striker. But I still donīt recommend ProForce. Not because of the the ferr. rod but because of the striker. The serrated striker that is included with Light My Fire ferr. fire starters is much more better (actually the best striker I have ever used) and generates bigger sparks. ProForce Scout is now on my EDC keychain but I replaced the original striker (dull straight piece of metal) with striker from old broken LMF Scout.
I might be wrong but I think that ProForce, Light My Fire, Mag Fire etc. use just the same ordinary ferrocerium rod with the same composition.
From what I have read Aurora is quite different firestarter. I think Solo Scientific have patented the idea or process (?) of integrating big amount of magnesium directly into the ferr. rod.
