I've used a magnesium block to start a fire and it is very frustrating. The blastmatch would be ideal, but I think it is too heavy for this type of kit.
The leaders I was thinking about are steel/metal leaders with swivel on one end and a clip on the other. The trace wire (for snares) can also be used for leaders.
Superglue is more conveiniently sized than epoxy, but i agree that epoxy is superior. Some members include a 'glue stick' in their kits, but I am not 100% sure about what that is.
A full sized compass will be better. I'm too sure how big/small to go though, as I don't know what 'features' I would NEED in a survival situation.
