while I know the original containers are too large for normal PSK... what does anyone here know about
1) the effectiveness of "Stabilized Oxygen" for purification
and
2) repackaging same into smaller bottles for a PSK?

Does it really work?

see it here:
Aerobic or "stabalized" oxygen

Aerobic oxygen therapy is the latest alternative medicine fad here in rational, cautious and sceptical Southern California. Does it work? Yes, but it's adherents ( the people selling the stuff) have "clouded the waters" with medical wonder claims that are poorly tested and possibly in violation of FDA and medical standards. You will also note the attacks on other methods as being harmfull or inferior. Colloidal Silver was the previous offering, and like this is horribly overpriced. I'll stick to my nasty Iodine and boiling until more information is available. Did I mention my Feng-Shui pamphlet on harmoniously arrranging PSKs? <img src="images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I guess I am more interested in it though as method of long term water storage for my "home preparedness kit"

Not clear from the web-site what the actual chemical composition of this product is. By description it could merely be hydrogen peroxide. As such you could buy it cheaper. Hydrogen peroxide is reasonably effective in disinfecting things but I am not sure about drinking it.

For water storage, why not consider chorine bleach, it is cheap and readily available. Just be sure to buy the unscented variety. Many of the bottles even have the appropriate amount of bleach to add for water disinfection or go to the American Red Cross, FEMA or Cholox brand web sites for additional information. Pete
