I think this guy has serious mental issues. OCD for sure.

I honestly expect to learn he has been homeless in the past. I have dealt with several homeless folks who kept their "valuables" stashed around their person like this.

While not very nice of me, I do wonder where his tin foil hat was.

Imagine the size of tin he would need if he put it all into a single container.

I wonder what he looks like wearing that all that kit. What does he look like walking? Is it really a life thing or just a fun gimmick? I agree with Desperado. I seem to loose stuff in my two front pants pockets all the time.

This time of year such as when we are out hiking such as today, my backpack weighed in at 26 lbs. After 6000' total feet of ascents and descents over a relatively short distance, we were covered in sweat on the ascents despite the low temp of 42 F and minimal clothing. At least with the gear in a backpack, the front of the body and arms are exposed to the air which helps a lot with cooling. Wearing a jacket with all that gear along with the leg holsters such as this person has, we probably would of collapsed from heatstroke today...

Even though the above is not the norm for 99% of people, in a bad bug out situation, this is one of our off-road routes out of the area and is why we hike it a couple of times per year for conditioning and route familiarization. That being said, I cannot fathom how practical this person's setup would be in this type of situation. Wearing all that jacket and gear right on the body would get warm after walking at any speed for any distance...regardless of terrain.

Like I asked a friend of mine one time when were hunting: "You got a glass-blowing kit in there?"

Honestly, that looks alot like what i envision me having someday. He does need to add a couple of coloring books and crayons for the occasional loud kid. Oh, and don't forget a black jack for the parents who think everyone wants to hear their kid cry and whine or run around the restaurant blowing nose bubbles at the other patrons. (No issues here)

Well with a better phone he could eliminate the Psion 3mx organizer as most phones now a days can do anything one of those little organizers can.
replace his DMM with one that has a battery test mode to eliminate the battery tester. The electrical tester screwdriver isn't needed with the DMM.
If he switched his flashlight to an AA powered one instead of those 123's he could eliminate a few spare batteries. He has 4 bettery powered items I counter, the razor, camera, flashlight and DMM, standardizing on one type cuts down on spares.
Perfume is unnecessary and unless hes frequenting singles bars (too many people now a days think they need to wear it to work or the grocery store or wherever).

With that kit at about 15 kilos I suspect he is more a 'stay at home' sort.

Kit size and weight are a trade off between comprehensiveness and portability. A complete kit can cover you for everything short of finding yourself stranded on the moon, But they are often so bulky and heavy you need to carry it in an eighteen wheeler and sort the contents with a forklift.

Odds are when an emergency rolls around that kit will be at home.

On the other hand there are minimalist kits. Generally little more the clothes your wearing, multitool, lighter, a bit of cordage, pen, watch, and a tiny flashlight. That kit is usually on hand. Add a bit of knowledge and an inventive mind and energy and you can often make up for what you don't have.

Everyone has their preferences and reasons for them. Whatever works for you.
