#20: The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

Thanks for the link. I had never seen this before. A lot of truth contained within. The one about never engaging in a gunfight with any thing that dosen't start with a "4" I'll take exception to though. If you put enough lead down range it really won't matter. The last rule: PEACE...through superior firepower. grin

I've always though training, training, training was more important than anything else. I'd be more afraid of the guy who can hit a mosquito with a .380 than the guy with "4" something who's a weekend range commando.

Good stuff, but I'm not sure how to follow Rule 26, without putting my life at risk unnecessarily.

26. Practice shooting in the dark, with someone shouting at you, when out of breath, etc.

I think all the gunfighters should be sent to live with each other and given plenty of ammunition.
Maybe to a deserted island just far enough away that the rest of us can hear them shooting at each other but not close enough for us to be hit by stray bullets.

I really don't understand this fascination with shooting each other.

Yup, and a lot of them likely think just like you do, and are looking at you when they think it.
Matter of fact your neighbors are likely out buying some assault weapons to defend themselves from you right now.

Better be careful, they might decide you are too dangerous and decide to shoot you on sight.

This is the worst and the most disturbing excuse for owning firearms I have ever heard...anywhere.

Most of those that I know to own firearms have no such fascination. I don't think the writer of these rules has one either. Anyone who states the following, simply is not looking for a fight of any kind:

23. Your number one option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

However, if one is threatened, the rules may be good information. It's not bad to think about the what ifs, just in case.

In the same vein, I am not looking for a disaster of any nature to befall myself, my family, my friends, my community, my country ot even my planet. However, I know they will occur. I know they will occur to those about whom I care, and maybe to my family and myself. It's not bad to think about these what ifs either, just in case.

If that was the case it would have been rule number one instead of 23.
This is rule 1 according to them.
Quote:
1. Forget about knives, bats and fists. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns. Bring four times the ammunition you think you could ever need.

In other words start a bloody war.
