Well, spring is coming (I hope), and I am cleaning out some old gear. I have some items below that I have taking up space. All gear, with the exception of the backpack, was used VERY lightly. I have a tendency to try the "next best thing" quite often, so I end up with gear thats been used only a handful of times. As I am in a small apt, it is taking up too much room. So, I want to offer some of this for sale. Anyway, here is the gear:

Items for sale:

Us military issue ECWS Gen II goretex parka, like new. I have only worn this a handful of times, as I have a civilian one I normally wear. It was issued before my last deployment, ad I never turned it back in. Was never used in the field; I have only worn this a couple times during foul weather. I would list this as new, but as it has been worn, I cannot. Askin $120 plus shipping.

Maxpedition Jumbo Verispack. Used, excellent condition. I am left handed, so this goes over the right shoulder, and hangs on the left hip. More info on this pack can be seen at http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=4&idproduct=6 Am asking $65 plus shipping.

Mountainsmith Blaze II, used, excellent condition. This is a lumbar pack, mountainsmith no longer makes this model. More information can be seen here: http://www.epicsportsgear.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=57-297

Golite Trek frameless backpack. USed, good condition. Unlike the other gear, this has seen some weekend trips. This is an ultrilight backpack, and is frameless. There is a thin foam backpad, but it does not offer any structural integrity. It is designed to have your sleeping pad used as a packframe. This is a great backpack, but, after a summer of use, I decided it wasnt for me, mainly because I hammock camp, and do not use a sleeping pad. As a result, I want to sell this off as well. There arent any defects on this; I was pretty gentle with this pack. I have just decided it isnt for me. More info on the specs can be seen here: http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/golite_trek_gg.html I am asking $75 plus shipping for this.

I am open to any & all questions regarding these items. I primarily would prefer money, but am open to trade. I will accept MO or paypal. If it is paypal, please figure in the 3%. I will be heading to my buddies house next weekend, to clean out some gear from his storage place, so I may have some other things going in the near future too. Anyway, thanks for looking, and PLEASE GET THIS GEAR OFF MY HANDS!!! smile

Hmm... are we allowed to sell stuff on the forums? Nothing here I need, but if we can sell things, I might have a post up soon!

Cool. Maybe there's a market for a Buy/Sell/Trade sub-forum like others have (I'm thinking CandlePowerForums personally)? I know lots of us buy a lot of redundancy that we'd love to get rid of.

Wouldn't it be better to list this stuff in the "Marketplace" part of ETS?

Nice price on the stuff by the way...

I wondered that too. From the forum rules (the link is just below the forum title - if you've never noticed it):

"Members may offer items of their own survival gear that is surplus to their needs for sale on a non-commercial basis, but members should be advised that they purchase such items at their own risk and to be sure to take whatever precautions they feel may be appropriate as we cannot and will not get involved in the transaction other than to provide a means of communication. Purchase at your own risk."

I would suspect that a sale of items on the 1st or 2nd post in this forum would still be frowned upon.

So clean out those closets!!

BTW, I've always thought that pics of high-quality, but "deflated" packs look so very sad. It makes me appreciate the art/science of making commerical-quality catalog-type pics.

Not having the time or ability to have a "yard sale" or whatever, the local SPCA, with their five day a week thrift shop, has been experiencing a windfall lately...

Marketplace is for paid advertisements folks. As I am just getting rid of gear, this doesnt qualify as I interpreted it.
